African PET market opportunities in spotlight

PET opportunities in the African region will be the focus of a summit of brand owners, coveters, bottlers, fillers, PET resin manufacturers, beverage majors and other stakeholders in Tanzania next month.

The inaugural Africa PET (resin trade, applications and recycling) summit, titled ‘Tapping on PET Conversions in the Next Frontier African Markets,’ will run from September 23 to 24.

Duncan Kimani, country manufacturing manager, Coca-Cola, will reveal all about ‘Operational Challenges and Strategies for Success in Kenya/East Africa CSD Sector.’

He will share the company’s perspective on the soft drink industry across Tanzania, Kenya, Zambia and Ethiopia as well as shares market insights on CSD market and other juice/nectar/still drinks segment.

Sandeep Pahariya, vice president operations and business development at Indorama PET (Nigeria) will share a PET resin manufacturer’s perspective/strategy on the African region, particularly Nigeria and West Africa.

Williams Kwasi Peprah, deputy general manager, Massily Ghana, will provide updates on the Ghana market will Kouadio Sey, GM, Ivoirienne de Plastique, will offer details of PET conversion in Ivory Coast, Senegal and Mali.

Other key sessions will include ‘Will Africa’s PET Demand Mitigate Global Imbalance?’,  ‘Beverage Sector Outlook in Sub-Saharan Africa and Its Implications on Packaging’, ‘Modular Solutions for the Specific Needs of PET Processors’, ‘South Africa’s PET Resin Outlook’, ‘Logistics, Distribution & Supply Chain Challenges in Africa: An Analysis by Region’ and ‘Operating in a Credit Driven Market: How to Reduce Business Risks & Costs of Doing Business in Africa?’ - TradeArabia News Service
