DHL Middle East wins ‘Top Employer’ certification

DUBAI, March 9, 2015

DHL Middle East has won the 'Top Employer' certification for the first time, in recognition of its human resources management excellence.

DHL Express centres in the region that earned the honours include UAE and Saudi Arabia, said a statement.

DHL has also won the overall global award as it is one of five companies worldwide to get this recognition, which is awarded to companies that get all three continental/regional awards.

It has far surpassed other applicants and was awarded in all six regions defined by Top Employers, it said.

The company employs nearly 77,000 people across the world and operates in 220 countries. Its vision stresses that it wants to be the logistics provider people turn to as their first choice not only for all their shipping needs, but also as an employee or investor.

The Top Employers Institute, which carries out the auditing, reserved special praise for DHL Middle East’s approach to talent management strategy, training and skill development, and corporate culture, said the statement.

There are nine criteria which include talent strategy, workforce planning, and on-boarding, L&D, performance management, leadership development, career and succession planning, compensation and benefits, and culture.

Nour Suliman, CEO Middle East and North Africa at DHL, commented: "This internationally-recognised certification is testimony to the success of our human resources approach.

“DHL was built on the hard work and efforts of its people, we understand how important that is, and have continuously worked to provide the best conditions for our people and create an environment that nurtures talent, and rewards performers. We are proud to be awarded the 'Top Employer' certification in the region."

“We have also deployed an effective recognition and reward system to highlight and recognise exceptional individual performances (Employee of the Year, Employee of the Quarter, 'Can Do Awards', etc.). These highlight the importance of the initiative, commitment and passion demonstrated by employees going the extra mile for our customers,” added Suliman. - TradeArabia News Service
