Drydocks World wins CSR award

DUBAI, November 22, 2015

Drydocks World, a leading provider of maritime and offshore services to the shipping, oil, gas and energy sectors, was presented the ‘Corporate Social Responsibility Award’ at The Maritime Standard Awards 2015, held earlier this month in Dubai, UAE.

With a head count of over 10,000, Drydocks World is a combination of different cultures with 52 nationalities represented. As a result of that, the management has rolled out an extensive corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme based on the four pillars of CSR: the workplace, marketplace, community and environment, said a statement from the company.

Among the many initiatives undertaken by the Drydocks World Group, it provides millions of dirhams in donations to humanitarian drives such as “The Water Aid Campaign” and “Dress 1 Million Needy Children”, it said.

It also participates in extensive collaboration with the Dubai Health Authority in conducting periodical blood donation campaigns, seminars, awareness seminars on issues like Breast Cancer and Prostate Cancer as well as world leading research with Imperial College, London on the programme Welship and participation in Earth Hours, it added.

The group is dedicated to ensure that all employees, subcontractors and stake holders working with Drydocks World go home safe today, tomorrow and always, said the statement.

Winning this respected award is a testament to the company’s efforts and endeavors to give back to its workforce, to the community within the UAE and to the many communities around the world that make the Drydocks World Group a successful, ethical and socially responsible business, it added. – TradeArabia News Service
