GE Power Services appoints new CEO for MEA region

MIDDLE EAST, July 21, 2016

GE Power Services has appointed Joseph J Anis as its chief executive officer for the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region, said a report.

In his new role, Anis will be responsible for growing the business with a focus on leveraging GE’s Industrial Internet solutions, added the Peninsula Qatar report.

He replaces Azeez Mohammed, who will take on a new role as CEO for GE Energy Connection’s Power Conversion unit based in Paris, France, it said.

Anis holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Syracuse University in New York, US, and he joined GE in 1997 as general manager for the company’s Power Controls business and has served in various leadership roles both in the region and globally including as general manager for Power Generation sales in the MEA.

He joined GE’s Power Generation Services business in 2012 as the vice president of global sales and commercial operations. In 2015, he was named vice president commercial for power services where he was responsible for delivering sales growth across its portfolio of product lines and commercial offerings, as well as driving sales penetration with customers.

Power Services integrates the best service teams in the power industry – GE’s Power Generation Services and Alstom’s Thermal Services – and has played a central role in the MEA region in helping customers to expand their power plant capability and maximise resource use efficiency.
