Iran, S Korea to discuss joint fish farming venture

TEHRAN, July 26, 2016

Iran is set to hold talks with South Korea on boosting cooperation in the fisheries sector and plans for a joint fish farming venture, said a report.

The talks will be held in Iran later this week and will involve officials from South Korea's Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries and their Iranian counterparts, added the Iran Daily News report, citing Yonhap News Agency.

The talks will discuss follow-up measures for a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for cooperation in the fisheries sector signed in May during South Korean President Park Geun-hye's visit to the Middle Eastern country, it said.

Officials from the South Korean ministry will also check the feasibility of a joint venture in fish farming, added the report.
