Iran’s copper concentrates output exceeds 370,000 tonnes

Iran produced a total of 371,363 tonnes of copper concentrates from March 20 to July 21 this year, indicating a growth of 22.84 per cent against 302,307 tonnes produced in the same period last year, said a report.

Announcing this, Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO) said that the complexes of Sar Cheshmeh in Kerman Province, Sungun in East Azarbaijan Province and Meyduk in Kerman Province were the main producers of copper concentrates during the period, added the Iran Daily News, citing Irna.

The report added that copper production stood at 94,233 tonnes in the month to July 21, showing a rise of 11 per cent compared to the figure for the same month last year which was 84,604 tonnes.

Total production from Sar Cheshmeh and Meyduk complexes stood at 78,118 tonnes of copper anode as well as 60,505 tonnes of copper cathode during the four-month period, added the report.
