Al Habtoor Group, Dubai SME sign agreement

DUBAI, December 26, 2016

Dubai-based Al Habtoor Group, a major UAE conglomerate with diversified businesses in several sectors, recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Mohammed Bin Rashid Establishment for SME Development (Dubai SME) to support local businesses.

Dubai SME is a governmental organisation aimed at fostering the entrepreneurial spirit in the city of Dubai by creating a business enabling environment to facilitate the development of new businesses and stimulate entrepreneurial activities among Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).

The MoU, for a period of one year, constitutes an understanding of collaboration between the two organisations in which Al Habtoor Group will give priority business to members of Dubai SME proving they can supply a competitive service, said a statement.

Mohammed Al Habtoor, vice chairman and CEO, Al Habtoor Group signed the agreement with Abdul Baset Al Janahi, CEO of Dubai SME, it said.

Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor, founding chairman, Al Habtoor Group, said: “SMEs play an important role in the UAE economy. We are happy to support members of the Dubai SME, to help enable their companies to grow.”
