Buffalo DriveStations go Turbo

Dubai, January 27, 2008

Buffalo Technology has upgraded its DriveStation range of external hard drives with its exclusive TurboUSB technology.

Following positive market response to the MiniStation and DriveStation TurboUSB ranges launched in late 2007, the DriveStation Quattro and Combo are the latest drives to benefit from Buffalo’s speed-boosting technology, the company said in a statement.

Buffalo’s DriveStation Quattro TurboUSB is a high speed USB 2.0/eSATA hard drive which offers storage or backup for a range of users from consumers to students, graphic designers to IT professionals.

It features RAID 0, 1, 5 and Standard operational modes for managing its four high performance (7200rpm) drives. Equipped with high speed eSATA, the USB interface is now also boosted with TurboUSB to offer even faster transfer rates. The device will be available in capacities of 1TB (HD-QSS1.0U2/R5), 2TB (HD HD-QSS2.0U2/R5) and 4TB (HD-QSS4.0U2/R5), the company added.

“The DriveStation Quattro offers consumers and SOHO businesses a cost-effective but reliable storage and backup facility. The superior speed and performance of the latest drives meets current demand for simple, fast and secure storage options,” said Buffalo Technology’s EMEA Product Marketing Manager Gerardine Lynch.

“In the Middle East, like the rest of EMEA, the market for personal data storage has grown enormously and this need is pushing for larger and capacities and faster data transfer rates. Buffalo’s TurboUSB feature maximizes the data transfer rates on Direct Attach storage devices like the new DriveStation,” said EMEA Director Kevin Vine.

The DriveStation Combo TurboUSB is equipped with a single SATA drive and features both FireWire and USB 2.0 interfaces, ensuring high-speed data transfer to and from digital devices. The device will be available in capacities of 250GB (HD-HS250IU2), 320GB (HD-HS320IU2), 500GB (HD-HS500IU2), 750GB (HD-HS750IU2) and 1TB (HD-HS1.0IU2), the company said. – TradeArabia News Service
