D-Link to boost ‘green initiative’

Dubai, March 18, 2009

D-Link Middle East, an end-to-end computer network solutions provider, announced today (March 18) that it is boosting its “Green Initiative” by not only providing energy-saving technology solutions, but also by defining “green” requirements for its products.

Being a pioneer in introducing eco-friendly networking solutions, D-Link now offers a complete line of “green” technology solutions, including network switches, wi-fi routers, network attached storage, Internet-enabled digital photo frames and the new powerline network adapters.

D-Link has instituted a program through which all D-Link Green solutions must qualify first before being labeled D-Link Green. This program calls for incorporation of D-Link’s energy-saving technologies, compliance with green initiatives and usage of D-Link’s eco-friendly sustainable packaging (such as sleeveless design and soy ink).

“Identifying products as D-Link Green is not arbitrary, but is instead a process in which products must comply with the program's specific product requirements and initiatives before qualifying,” said Tony Tsao, president and CEO of D-Link Corporation.

“We will continue to build innovative green technology into these and other product lines as part of our commitment to becoming more energy-efficient without sacrificing performance,” he added.

Harrison Albert, regional sales director at D-Link said: “The safety and integrity of our ‘green’ products are of great concern to us and important to our relationship with customers."

“We will continue to seek new avenues that protect the environment and help consumers save money,” Harrison added. – TradeArabia News Service
