Kaspersky releases server anti-virus

Dubai, December 23, 2010

Kaspersky Lab, a leading developer of secure content and threat management solutions, has released its anti-virus solution for Microsoft ISA Server and Forefront TMG Standard Edition.

Kaspersky Anti-Virus 8.0, which will be included in the Kaspersky security for Internet gateways and Kaspersky total space security product ranges, provides high levels of protection, scanning traffic passing through Microsoft ISA Server and Forefront TMG Internet gateways.

The antivirus engine scans files of almost any format transferred via HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, POP3 and SMTP protocols. The files are scanned in real-time without noticeably delaying the exchange of information between users.

The solution includes the new Anti-Virus engine 8.0, which makes minimal use of system resources, is updated on a regular basis and benefits from a combination of traditional signature-based technologies and heuristic detection methods to protect against new and emerging threats.

The latest version of Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Microsoft ISA Server and Forefront TMG is capable of detecting and treating files of almost any format, including archives and compressed files.

It scans HTTP and FTP traffic on published servers as well as traffic using VPN-connections, ensuring premium levels of protection, even when the network is accessed remotely. Infected, damaged and suspicious files are not irrevocably deleted. Copies of the originals are made and saved and can easily be found and restored, if necessary, a statement said.

Kaspersky Anti-Virus 8.0 for Microsoft ISA Server and Forefront TMG Standard Edition can be managed locally or remotely via the Microsoft Management Console (MMC), which is familiar to many administrators.

The console informs the administrator about any important events and the current status of the protection system. Administrators can establish flexible traffic scanning rules and set file formats that should be excluded from scanning for different network nodes.

Flexible application settings allow adjustment of the load on the protected server, and the optimized system architecture boosts fault tolerance.

The solution supports the new Microsoft Forefront TMG and Microsoft Windows 2008 R2 platforms and the application is VMware Ready certified, confirming that the application will run in VMware virtual environments. – TradeArabia News Service
