GBI wins quality accreditation
Doha, March 22, 2011
Gulf Bridge International (GBI), the Middle East’s first privately owned submarine cable operator, has been awarded ISO 9001 2008 accreditation by the SGS group.
“I am delighted that GBI has received this accreditation which confirms our commitment to establishing a quality focused organization,” said Rashed Al Naimi, chairman of GBI.
“It is rather unique for a relatively young company such as GBI to gain this accreditation, as the majority of companies who apply are well established. However, we are determined to lay the right foundations on which to build a strong and efficient business, which will offer unparalleled service and maximize shareholder value. This will stand us in good stead for the launch of our services later this year,” added Ahmed Mekky, board member and chief executive of GBI.
“We are deploying a market leading cable system and want to ensure that operationally we are also world-class in terms of operational efficiency and service delivery,” stated Khaled Naguib, SVP Corporate and Administration, GBI.-TradeArabia News Service
