Meeting puts spotlight on IT security

Financial experts discussed ways to boost personal Internet security at the annual general meeting of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) in Bahrain.

About 200 members of a total of 350 were present at the 13th AGM held at Ramee International Hotel, Juffair, where the annual report from last year, ending July 31, was adopted and a new auditor, M Sundaran, was appointed.

The general meeting was followed by a seminar on personal IT security, presented by director and practice head of Secure IT Lab Ashish Sharma.

Sharma focused on personal Internet security, outlining the importance of protection while emphasising IT risk, and how through control these can be maximised.

New chairman T D Balraj spoke on his vision for the coming year.

He said his motto would be 'join hands and reach out' and stressed the importance of reaching out and helping the institute's members as well as the community at large.-TradeArabia News Service
