Etisalat launches exclusive plan for students

Etisalat today launched an exclusive plan for university and college students in the UAE offering a range of discounts and benefits.

As part of this plan, new Student Wasel customers will receive Dh25 free credit upon subscription and for the first five times they recharge their account, they will receive Dh10 free credit. In addition, new subscribers can also take advantage of 100 MB of free data, free rental on Etisalat Messenger and on Greetune services for one month.

New and existing students who are Wasel customers can migrate to the plan free of charge, and all of their national calls will be charged per-second, where subscribers to the plan can avail a special rate for calling within the group for as little as 0.4 fils per second, and 0.6 fils per second for national calls outside the group. In terms of text messages, students will be charged 15 fils per SMS for those within the group and 18 fils per national SMS outside the group. All other charges, such as International Calling, MMS and Roaming will be charged as per the existing rates.

In addition to this, Etisalat is offering an exclusive discount for students of 25 per cent on all mobile internet and mobile broadband packages. Students will also have access to Blackboard Mobile LearnTM on Etisalat, a mobile application providing students with access to all aspects of the educational experience on their mobile phone. This includes instant access to courses, content, grades, announcements, organizations and much more. The Blackboard Mobile Learn service is subject to the institution’s subscription to the service with Etisalat.

Commenting on this new Student Plan, Matthew Willsher, chief marketing officer for Etisalat, said: “It’s per second, it’s for groups of friends and packed with benefits such as 25 per cent off mobile broadband. The new Student Plan is the ideal choice for students who are savvy purchasers, highly social and technology leaders.”
 
Students will need to present a valid University or college Student ID card issued from UAE at any of Etisalat’s business centers, outlets in malls or university campuses to subscribe to the plan. – TradeArabia News Service
