GBM names new director for IBM software

Gulf Business Machines (GBM), the region’s leading IT solutions provider, today announced the appointment of John Banks as the new director of IBM Software.

In his new role, Banks will be the director responsible for all aspects of growth and development of the IBM Software portfolio in GBM.

Cesare Cardone, chief executive officer of GBM said: “Having worked in software with IBM for over a decade, John brings along extensive industry expertise matured in over 30 countries.”

“He possesses the in-depth understanding required to successfully drive GBM’s software business development. He has the mission of expanding IBM’s portfolio and improving the availability of IBM software technology in the region in order to evolve our customer’s IT infrastructures.”

John Banks has over 27 years of industry and management experience. He joins GBM from IBM where he has worked for over 16 years in both the outsourcing and software divisions in both Australia/New Zealand and Asia Pacific regions.

Banks said: “I am extremely excited to start my new role. As GBM expands its strong and comprehensive IBM software portfolio, I believe in providing a fresh look at software for our customer base. The aim is to maintain quality IT solutions delivery and to contribute to the healthy business results of the region.”

Banks holds a Bachelor of Business with Marketing, Computer Science and International Marketing as sub majors from the University of Technology in Sydney, Australia. – TradeArabia News Service
