Viva Bahrain launches 4G network VPN service

Manama, June 3, 2014

Leading telecom provider Viva Bahrain has launched the MPLS Virtual Private Network service over its 4G network for enterprise and SME customers.

With this solution, Viva will offer fast, reliable, secure and cost-effective connectivity allowing enterprise and SME customers to exchange information between multiple locations in Bahrain through one cohesive and secure network, said a statement.

Viva’s 4G MPLS VPN service provides remote offices or individual users with secure access to their organisation's network, it said.

Saad Odeh, chief of Wholesale and Enterprise, said: “As businesses grow, they might expand to multiple shops or offices across the country. To keep things running efficiently, people working in those locations need a fast, secure and reliable way to share information across computer networks.

“With Viva’s service we provide our customers with a secure and reliable solution to support their wide range of business applications, enabling them to exchange data securely anytime using Viva’s 4G network”.

The service is already in use after Viva recently signed a deal with Bahrain Cinema Company (CineCo) to connect six multiplexes - Bahrain City Centre mall, Seef 1 and 2 cinemas, Al Jazeera, Awal, Al Hamra and Saar cinema, said the statement.

The launch comes shortly after Viva revamped its Dedicated Internet Access (DIA) service to support businesses with higher speed access, up to 10Gbps, which allows customers the freedom of choosing minimum speed limit as an alternative to a maximum speed limit with additional benefits fulfilling the evolving needs of businesses, it added. - TradeArabia News Service
