Batelco backs youth development initiative

MANAMA, September 17, 2014

Bahrain’s leading telecommunication operator Batelco is supporting a new initiative to inspire youth and help their career aspirations, as part of its commitment to education.

Its Youth Marketing Team has launched a new empowerment programme, the Global Leader Programme, in cooperation with AIESEC, an international non-profit organisation that provides young people with leadership opportunities to develop themselves into global leaders with an urge to make a difference in society.

Batelco and AIESEC have recently signed a partnership deal to jointly empower talented young people in the local community, said a statement.

The Global Leader Programme is offered to university students and recent graduates between the ages of 18 and 30 who are interested in self-discovery and career development and would like to receive practical hands-on experience through various fields and also deliver a youth leadership impact through AIESEC’s Global  network.

The Global Leader Programme, powered by Batelco, gives interested youths a one year membership to attend and participate in conferences, said the statement.

Interested applicants, who applied via AIESEC’s website, are currently being assessed and 200 will be selected to join for one year.

The selected candidates will be required to participate in conferences over the duration of their membership.

The first conference is scheduled to take place from September 26 to 28 and selected candidates will also have the option of joining Batelco’s Ambassador Programme, which includes additional benefits. - TradeArabia News Service
