Gitex Technology Week launches Arabic website

DUBAI, October 6, 2016

Gitex Technology Week, a major information and communications technology (ICT) trade fair, has announced the launch of its Arabic website to help enhance exhibitor and visitor experiences at the event.

The event will be held from October 16 to 20 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

Developed in association with Dubai-based translation firm, Commanine, the full-fledged, full-service Arabic language website mirrors the popular English version, and aims to provide current and relevant information about the event, said a statement from the company.

According to Bilal Al Rais, commercial director of Gitex Technology Week, the need for an Arabic website has been gaining momentum in recent years.

Al Rais said: “With each edition, we continue to attract various new audience segments, among them very young consumers, first-time shoppers, and large numbers of people who arrive in Dubai from neighbouring countries, specifically to attend the event.”

“We wanted to be able to reach out to these audiences and communicate directly with them. Since language seemed to be a barrier, an Arabic website was the ideal solution,” he explained.

“We found a great partner in Commanine to achieve this task. Not only are they reputed translation professionals, but they also developed a tailor-made technology solution to ensure speed, effectiveness, and accuracy of translation,” he added.

Samer Mourched, co-founder and managing director at Commanine, said: “At our company, we continue to explore the many realms of communicating and engaging with words - in print, electronic, and virtual spaces.”

“Working on this project posed a specific set of challenges, especially live and quick-time translations, but we were able to deliver an apt solution,” he added. – TradeArabia News Service
