UAE Embassy in India launches bilateral app

NEW DELHI, December 7, 2017

The UAE Embassy in India launched a mobile application dubbed "UAE Embassy in New Delhi" to help Emiratis travelling to India or residing in this country as well as Indian citizens with interests in the UAE.

Dr Ahmed Al Banna, UAE’s Ambassador to India unveiled the application during a press conference held on Wednesday in New Delhi, reported Emirati news agency Wam.

The user-friendly application has "many features and information which address their queries and requirements", he said.

This will considerably facilitate procedures, consular services and all services provided by the embassy, as users will need to neither visit nor call the embassy in order to obtain comprehensive information. The bilingual user interface allows for easy access to information in both Arabic and English.

Emirati nationals visiting India to guide UAE nationals can register their presence in the mission’s jurisdiction by clicking on the "Twajudi" icon (Arabic for "My Location"). It will also include travel advisories issued by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

"The application functions like a map showing key destinations and locations, providing its users with proper guidance to help process requests and resolve any issues,” explained Al Banna.

It offers detailed information on the location and respective jurisdictions of UAE Embassies and Consulates in Indian cities and provides relevant visa information to Indian nationals including details on visa procedures and the types of visas for travel to the UAE.

"Our key goal is to ensure proper guidance is accessible at all times,” concluded Ambassador Al Banna.
