Dubai Studio City to host post-production workshops

DUBAI, March 9, 2015

Dubai Studio City (DSC), a leading community for broadcasting and production in the Mena region, will host a series of post-production workshops for media professionals in partnership with CABSAT, which starts tomorrow (March 10) and runs till March 12.

For the first time in the region, certified instructors straight from the NABSHOW training wing will provide advanced post-production training. This will mark the 11th consecutive year of participation and partnership with CABSAT for DSC.

The two-day training sessions will bring together editors, producers, directors and new media specialists in production and post-production, as well as independent films, to learn a variety of skills including green-screen production and post-production, how to be a better director, web video production strategies and creative editing tips.

To encourage creativity and promote talent, DSC has also partnered with American University in Dubai (AUD) to offer three aspiring media students the opportunity to take part in the two-day workshops. Shortlisted candidates will learn first-hand from world-renowned experts about the crucial production and post-production skills, and will be presented with an internationally-recognised certificate at the end of the training.

CABSAT has grown to become the Mena region’s largest broadcast, digital media and satellite expo, bringing together industry professionals to discuss, debate and showcase the latest technologies within the production, animation, photography and broadcasting sectors. With more than 900 exhibitors and 20,000 expected visitors, CABSAT has and continues to play a major role in supporting Dubai’s aim to become the destination of choice for productions from around the world.

Jamal Al Sharif, managing director of DSC, said: “CABSAT is an ideal platform for connecting the world’s leading content producers with businesses involved in exchanging, managing and distributing content, and provides the perfect platform to share industry knowledge and expertise. We are delighted to be presenting post-production workshops during CABSAT, which will harness skills, foster talent, and give media professionals and students the opportunity to access industry leaders as well as ignite new ideas and discussions. Dubai is an innovative hub that opens doors for talent, and we are committed to supporting the future generation of filmmakers as well as young talent, with whom we will continue to build upon the film and production industry in the emirate.” – TradeArabia News Service
