Emirati fashion show lights up City Walk

DUBAI, February 20, 2016

City Walk, a dynamic open-air shopping and entertainment destination executed by Dubai developer Meraas, is hosting a major design and fashion event that will feature the creations of Emirati female designers till February 22.

The Fashion Walk, being organised by creative media studio Quadro in collaboration with Tejar Dubai – an initiative by Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry – which aims to provide support for nascent entrepreneurs among Emiratis, and to help them develop their ideas, build their own projects, and face the marketplace challenges after conducting feasibility studies for these projects and determining their efficiency and ability.

The Fashion Walk is a celebration of the creative talent in the world of fashion and design in the UAE, stated Quadro in a statement.

The event, which kicked off on Thursday (February 18), will feature the latest fashion designs by more than 40 female designers.

It is expected to attract all fashion and style lovers, as well as those wishing to get a style makeover, including students, young women, businesswomen, and housewives.

Quadro has invited the most important local brands from across the country, especially those specialised in making elegant abayas, dresses, and kaftans, as well as jewellery and other fashion accessories loved by ladies of all ages.

Salama Al Falasi, the chief executive of Quadro, said: "We are delighted to be the first company to organise an event of this scale in City Walk, a distinctive project serving as an upscale platform to highlight the latest trends in the world of elegance and fashion by the most notable female Emirati designers."

"Visitors and shoppers can enjoy a wonderful atmosphere at this time of the year in the outdoor cafes in City Walk, Dubai, which adds a special touch and vitality to the open-air event," noted Al Falasi.

"This makes it a perfect destination to witness a unique lifestyle experience in Dubai, thanks to the diverse mix of prestigious brands and retail stores, in addition to the various restaurants and cafes," she added.

The event is expected to attract prominent figures in the field of fashion and lifestyle, including a number of designers, journalists, and bloggers. The list of visitors includes media personalities Maitha Ibrahim, Reem Saif, Rehab Abdullah, Rehab Al Muhairi, and Zainab Iskandar.-TradeArabia News Service
