Bahrain has announced a four-day weekend for the public sector to mark National Day and the 17th anniversary of His Majesty King Hamad’s Accession to the Throne.

All ministries, government departments and public establishments in Bahrain will close on Friday and Saturday to mark National Day and the 17th anniversary of His Majesty King Hamad’s Accession to the Throne, reported the BNA citing a circular from His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa.

Since Friday and Saturday are already public holidays, they will be compensated, and the holidays will be extended to Sunday and Monday (December 18 and 19), said the report.

Work will resume on Tuesday (December 20), it added.
