Dubai, January 14, 2008

Barcaarabia, a leading internet portal owned and operated by LINKonLINE which is a division of LINKdotNET, has launched FC Barcelona's official Arabic language website www.barcaarabia.com.

The launch, which targets the Catalonian giant's Middle-Eastern fan base, comes within the framework of the cooperation agreement between LINKdotNET and FC Barcelona, champion of multiple European titles.

FC Barcelona, one of the most famous clubs in the world and the first to launch an Arabic  language website, could do no better in awarding the site's operating rights to  LINKonLINE, a division of LINKdotNET, the region's leading provider of Internet solutions and which operates the rights to some of the region's most prominent websites such as Masrawy and MSN Arabia.

The cooperation agreement was concluded during FC Barcelona's visit to Cairo on the occasion of Al Ahly's centenary celebrations. A simple ceremony took place at one of Cairo's major hotels where the agreement was signed between FC Barcelona's vice-president, his marketing staff and LINKdotNET CEO Karim Bichara.

'The portal is intended to tighten the relationship between FC Barcelona and its Middle–Eastern fan base. Users will be able to follow the club's team news, results and fixtures. The club is in no doubt that the number of fans in the region will increase accordingly,” said LINKonLINE CEO Mohamed Sultan.

The Spanish club made a similar announcement on its official website confirming that its Middle-Eastern fans would now be able to follow the club's news in the Arabic language.
