Company eyes repeat success at Halal expo

Abu Dhabi, August 26, 2008

UAE-based food importer All Needs General Trading said it is hoping to repeat last year's success at the second edition of the Halal World Expo from November 11 to 13 in Abu Dhabi.

The company said it will introduce, Sippy Corn, a 100 per cent natural sweet corn kernel to the local and international market at the Halal industry event.

The company is hoping to repeat the success of Nonions, an all natural sautéed onion paste, which was successfully launched at the inaugural Halal exhibition in 2007.

Halal World Expo brings together Halal industry professionals from around the world, including North America, Serbia, Bosnia, Malaysia and Holland, to source new suppliers, develop strategic partnerships and launch products.

All Needs General Trading reported success at the event last year where it secured distributors for Nonions in Qatar, Kuwait and Brunei - Darussalam.

Ashwin Ruchani, marketing manager for the company, said: 'Our products are unique in the market because they are entirely natural. We are able to ensure quality and the highest standards from the farming process to the supermarket shelf because of the infrastructure of the company.'

'Visitors to the event this year will be able to taste our products and I am confident we will get another positive response,' he added.

The company said Sippy Corn is unique because the sweet corn kernels are not frozen or canned, but packaged in aluminium retort pouches which keep them fresh for up to 12 months without refrigeration stored at room temperature, or for up to 15 days once opened and refrigerated.

While the product is more cost effective for retailers, it is also healthier for consumers because there are no preservatives used.

As consumers in the UAE and around the world continue to seek natural and organic produce, All Needs General Trading believes their products can help retailers meet that demand.

'All Needs General Trading was a great success story from the inaugural Halal World Expo in 2007,' said Christine Weaver, exhibitions director for IIR Middle East, the organiser of the event.

'The company executed a well planned marketing campaign to launch their first product because they were able to make direct contact with potential distributors and suppliers.'

Halal World Expo offers organisations in food production and manufacturing, Islamic finance, pharmaceuticals and lifestyle products, the opportunity to network, exchange ideas and enhance business requirements.

The cross-cultural influence and growing awareness of health-related benefits have been dominant factors resulting in an increased acceptability of Halal practice throughout the world.

The exhibition is unique for its dedicated Halal Forum, which provides an excellent opportunity for exhibitors and senior buyers to discuss products and major issues in the Halal industry.

Halal World Expo further serves to acquaint exhibitors with prospective distributors, suppliers, and consumers with Business Connect, a programme facilitating one-to-one meetings to establish business relationships.

Originating from the capital and business hub of the UAE, Halal World Expo will be the only regional event to centre on Halal products and services with a global focus aiming to cater to a growing demand for Halal products worldwide. - TradeArabia News Service
