Al Faisaliah wing to redefine Arabian hospitality

Riyadh, April 5, 2010

The new wing at Al Faisaliah Hotel, a Rosewood Hotel, Riyadh will stand out for its modern, elegant and cutting edge design when it opens later this year, said its designer Princess Al Anoud Bint Khaled Al Saud.

The new wing, an extension to the existing hotel, will include 106 rooms and suites, an exclusive and luxurious ladies-only spa and an exciting new Italian restaurant.

Al Anoud, owner and founder of Al Dar Designs, said the new wing brings a fresh new feel to the hotel with vibrant colours and touches of Arabian and Islamic culture throughout.

The Princess is renowned for her artistic flair and ability to integrate colour and design which exudes elegance, simplicity and vibrancy. Throughout the design, she has maintained a sensory connection to the original ‘Dune’ theme of the existing hotel.

Commenting on her thoughts while designing the new wing, Al Anoud said, “Many hotels you see in Saudi are elegant but very traditional in design. Al Faisaliah Hotel has been the pinnacle of elegant design but with this wing we wanted to now bring international hotel design to the Kingdom that stands out for its unique infusion of Arabian culture into the central theme."

"This was a very important element to us," the Princess said.

‘We’ve chosen to go with Art Deco Classic and use Royal Ottoman Iznic patterns and Arabic Calligraphy as a key element of the Arabian and Islamic art throughout the wing. We’re also using 4-5 vibrant colours that when integrated give a very fresh feeling,” she explained.

Peter Finamore, managing director of Al Faisaliah Hotel, A Rosewood Hotel, said, "We at Al Faisaliah Hotel strive to always offer our guests the very finest in luxury surroundings and service second-to-none. Approaching our 10th anniversary, we want to ensure that this expansion to our offering delivers a standard of design and comfort not seen before in Saudi Arabia."

"We’re very glad to be able to work so closely with Al Anoud in order to deliver a new product to the market which embodies the very best of international design infused with a new interpretation of Arabian culture and tradition," he remarked.

“The new rooms and suites will be by far the largest hotel units in the Kingdom. We are also introducing the Kingdom’s first ever concept spa suite. The Oasis Suite will have dedicated in room spa facilities and has been specially designed with the discerning guest in mind.-TradeArabia News Service
