DJI signs co-op deal with RAK Courts

Dubai, May 11, 2010

Dubai Judicial Institute (DJI), a leading centre of law studies and judicial training in Dubai, has signed an agreement for technical co-operation with the RAK Courts Department.

Under the agreement, DJI will train the members of the judicial authority and the staff of the RAK Courts Department through a program that will be based on the experience of participants.

The agreement is in line with the two parties' common vision to enhance co-operation in promoting the judicial profession, said Judge Jamal Hussein Alsumaiti, DJI director general and chancellor Ahmed Mohammed Al Khatri, chairman of RAK Courts Department, after signing the pact.

The duo said the details of the training program will be determined after a consultation meeting.

DJI and RAK Courts Department also agreed on a staff exchange program wherein staff members from either party with certain domain expertise will be exchanged for a definite period, according to the requirements of the two parties.

In addition, they will work together on compiling books, conducting research, and organising conferences and workshops that will benefit DJI and RAK Courts Department.

RAK Courts Department and Dubai Judicial Institute will also cooperate in determining the trends of the jurisprudence in Ras Al Khaimah, which will contribute to enriching the legal knowledge of the judicial authority and the employees, who will be trained by DJI.

The two parties will also seek to participate and attend conferences and seminars held by each other.

'The DJI enjoys a prestigious position in providing judicial training for national human resources, in addition to having achieved excellence in promoting the legal culture and knowledge on the local, regional and international levels,' said Al Khatri.

'In line with our efforts to qualify the judicial and administrative support staff of RAK Courts Department, we have signed this agreement with the Institute to provide our staff with appropriate training and acquaint them with the best legal practices and concepts,' he noted.

' This partnership will also enhance the personal abilities of our staff in the area of research, analysis and decision-making, in addition to developing ways of thinking and strategising to address potential challenges,' Al Khatri added.

Judge Alsumaiti said the agreement was in line with its vision to achieve leadership in courts work by providing training services based on advanced education methodologies with the aim to improve the competency of staff members in the judicial system.

'We will seek to provide a training program that includes a variety of methodologies based on scientific research and practical approaches and field studies, which will contribute in enhancing the level of knowledge, skills and personal abilities among the judicial and administrative staff of RAK Courts Department. We are confident that this agreement will help us achieve our common goals and aspirations,' he added.

The agreement indicates that each party has the right after the consent of the other party to introduce amendments to its texts as deemed appropriate so as to not affect any changes in its terms.-TradeArabia News Service
