Sharjah TV names Lambie-Nairn branding partner

Sharjah, August 18, 2010

Sharjah Media Corporation (SMC), the parent of Sharjah TV, has named Lambie-Nairn, pioneers in the world of branding and identity, as its new branding partner.

The brand consultancy is currently developing new visual identities for both SMC and Sharjah TV, in line with the vision and targets for SMC set by Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qassimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.

The announcement was made by Amna Khamis Al Nakhi, CEO of SMC and managing director of Sharjah Radio and TV, after the agreement was signed by Al Nakhi and Andy Hayes, general manager of Lambie-Nairn Middle East.

The station is setting about engaging a new and wider audience focused around Arab and Muslim family values, and will unveil a new high quality programme grid later this year, said a statement from SMC.

Commenting on the agreement, Al Nakhi said: 'We recognize the huge steps made by the media industry across the Arab world, and we are very much part of that development.'

'What Lambie-Nairn brings is both international branding experience as well as a good understanding of Sharjah’s heritage and future vision – and the new branding for Sharjah TV and SMC as a whole will signal our commitment to be among the top public service broadcasters in the region,' she noted.

Andy Hayes said, 'Given SMC’s public sector broadcasting remit, it was important to us to understand the special qualities of Sharjah itself – from its family values to its productivity and sheer creativity.'

'The new identity will reflect this rich heritage as well as Sharjah TV’s new modern programming style, and will establish a single-minded brand strategy for SMC’s future development, ' he added.
