Al Ain municipality inks EIAST pact

The Department of Municipal Affairs – Al Ain Municipality and The Emirates Institution for Advanced Science & Technology (EIAST) have signed a MoU to improve institutional performance and develop value-added services for customers.

As per the agreement, the duo will help simplify customer services procedures, and develop joint activities to strengthen the technical and administrative capacities of staff members.

"The MoU is in line with our commitment to supporting partnerships and strengthening synergies with various government bodies to achieve common objectives as per a specific timetable for following up proposed joint projects," said Ahmed Al Mansoori, director general of EIAST.

"The agreement plays a vital role in developing a framework for joint action and future collaborations in various areas, as well as establishes key performance indicators to measure the output of the cooperation," he added.

Mohammed Saeed Al Neyadi, executive director of Strategic Planning and Performance Management, Al Ain Municipality, said: "The MoU confirms our commitment to promote co-operation with institutions that would raise the efficiency of municipal work."

"The municipality is seeking to make use of advanced scientific technologies in various fields to provide better services to the community through the MoU," he added.

Al Neyadi said the agreement will serve Al Ain Municipality in the fields of spatial data and maps, GIS maps and analysis that are used in applications on the environment, health, planning and urban development, which are essential goals of Al Ain Municipality.

As per the agreement, a system to manage crises and risks is being developed and adopted in addition to a mechanism to transport, transfer and protect satellite images, he added.-TradeArabia News Service
