Bahrain TV plans to launch a number of programmes during Ramadan, with the line-up including a selection of religious, social and entertainment programmes, said a top official.

The social programmes would begin with A Ramadan Morning which will provide information on the Holy Month, a recipe and short documentary on Bahrain's heritage, said acting director Fathi Mattar.

Well-known actor Mohammed Yaseen will present a daily contest for children, based on stories from Bahrain's rich heritage.

Anoter, Our Markets will offer an overview of Bahrain's local markets and their social aspect.

Within the same framework, another social programme will focus on brotherly ties among GCC countries and their people by hosting prominent figures in cultural and economic fields.

For those who love cooking, Mattar said a special programme will present the various ways of cooking different Bahraini dishes.

Mattar also revealed that Bahrain TV would visit Ramadan majlises, which has become a common aspect of Bahraini life, and talk to people attending them.

With regards to entertainment Mattar said that a candid camera programme is back and people would be amused with its variety of episodes.

Other programmes Mattar said included religious programmes that involve interaction with people and those that viewers would find interesting.

The new line-up of programmes comes following directives by Information Authority Affairs president Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa. – TradeArabia News Service
