BICI advice on sacked workers implemented

Manama, March 20, 2012

Bahrain’s government has accomplished Bahrain Independent Commission of Inquiry (BICI) recommendation on reinstatement of dismissed public and private sector workers and students accused of taking part in last year's violent incidents.

The government has reinstated all of the demobilised civil service employees who had been dismissed on grounds of their participation in last year's unrest.

The reinstatement of dismissed workers and/or students come in compliance with BICI's 1723, 1723A, B and C recommendations and Unesco's rules and regulations.

The government has exerted huge efforts and exercised all powers possible to ensure reinstatement of all dismissed private sector employees - approximately 97 per cent of them have been reinstated.

According to official statistics, a total of 2,218 employees out of 2,462 demobilised employees have been reinstated, that is 90 per cent of the total number of dismissal cases. – TradeArabia News Service
