UAE replaces energy minister in reshuffle

Abu Dhabi, March 12, 2013

The UAE has appointed Suhail Bin Mohammed Al-Mazroui as energy minister, state news agency Wam reported on Tuesday, replacing Mohammed Al-Hamli.

The change in ministers does not impact the UAE's energy policy, UAE industry sources told Reuters.

The move came in a cabinet reshuffle that did not impact any other major ministry. No reason was given for the reshuffle.

Al-Mazrouri was previously the deputy chief executive and senior vice president of new business development at Abu Dhabi's Mubadala Oil and Gas.

He had also worked at state-oil company Adnoc in the fields of reservoir engineering, production operation, and project management. Al-Hamli held the post of energy minister since November 2004. - Reuters
