Dubai police deny fire in Burj Khalifa
DUBAI, February 2, 2015
Dubai Police have clarified that there had been no fire in the Burj Khalifa, the world's tallest tower in Dubai, UAE, on Sunday night.
The clarification came after after images of smoke coming out of the world’s tallest tower circulated on social media, said a Gulf News report.
It said a Youtube user posted the video showing smoke that appears to be emanating from the Burj Khalifa. Images that were apparently extracted from the same video were also circulating on social media.
In its Twitter account, police said what looked like smoke was just a fog. “It’s that time of year the clouds gather around Burj Khalifa and trick us. It’s just a fog, our beloved Burj Khalifa is safe and shining,” said the police.
