Dugong deaths spark alarm in Bahrain

MANAMA, September 24, 2015

Two dead dugongs have washed up in as many months along Bahrain’s northern coast. Illegal sand dredging has been blamed for the demise of the marine mammals, which are categorised as under threat by the International Union for Conservation of Nature, said a report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.
