Hyundai models shine at Dubai motor show

Dubai, November 5, 2013

The reveal of the Hyundai HCD-14 Genesis was the highlight of an action-packed opening day on the Korean brand’s stand at the Dubai International Motor Show 2013 on Tuesday (November 5).

The unveiling of the stunning concept was just one of four regional debuts handed out on the Hyundai stand, alongside premieres by the i20 WRC, the New 2014 Centennial Limousine and the Veloster Turbo.

Introduced by Jin Kim - Asia-Pacific, Africa & Middle East Group director, the HCD-14 Genesis concept has already gained plenty of recognition from the world’s media, with its fluidic-precision, liquid-metal design language.

With innovative features such as optical recognition and interactive 3-D gesture recognition, the HCD-14 Genesis provides visitors to the show with a glimpse into the future of Hyundai premium design.

The Veloster Turbo was also making its highly-anticipated debut in the Middle East, where it is expected to prove a popular choice for younger customers looking for performance and style, and drew a lot of attention on day one of the region’s most important show.

The new 2014 Centennial Limousine debuted in the premium Zone on the Hyundai stand, featuring standards of technology and luxury expected in a premium car. Also unveiled was the i20 WRC, the model which marks Hyundai’s return to the World Rally Championship (WRC).

Outside the main halls, Hyundai highlighted its sponsorship of next year’s FIFA World Cup with an exclusive activity zone, allowing visitors to enjoy a range of activities including a football skill cage, kids zone and a FIFA play area containing two Play Station stations.

A Facebook photo booth and unique Hyundai Tweet vending machine also featured, as did regular Brazilian Capoeira dance displays.

Speaking at the show, VP and the head of Hyundai Africa & ME headquarters, Tom Lee said the motor show comes at a time when Hyundai’s profile in the Middle East has never been higher, befitting its position as the region’s number two car manufacturer.

"We wanted to make sure that visitors to the show could really experience the best of Hyundai, so we are pleased that we have been able to bring them something very special," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
