Bahrain motor show to line-up top models

Leading models of Toyota, Lexus and Volvo will be on display at the Bahrain International Motor Show, which opens tomorrow (December 12).

Toyota models will include the new Corolla 2014, the all-new Yaris 2014 and the new RAV4, said Ayman Shehadeb, marketing manager of Ebrahim K Kanoo, the sole distributor of Toyota and Lexus in the kingdom.

The company’s SUV stand will showcase the new face of Prado, the Land Cruiser and the FJ cruiser, he stated.

Toyota is offering visitors a chance to test drive the Toyota 86, a first-class sports car created for young, fun-loving drivers, on the Bahrain International Circuit’s track.

The company’s Lexus division will display the LF-CC (Lexus Future Captivating Coupe), a two-door coupe concept with a front-engine and rear-wheel drive. It is set to be launched in the Bahrain in next October.

The other exclusive model is the super Lexus LFA from the automaker’s F portfolio. This model was built with limited production of 500 units worldwide assembled all by hand, said Shehadeb.

The Lexus booth will showcase a total of nine models, including the F Sport line-up, IS F, LS F Sport, GS F Sport, IS F Sport, and the LX Sport. It also features the 2014 RX, and the recently launched 2014 GX. Visitors can test drive the Lexus GS at the BIC track, he added.

Meanwhile, Motorcity, the sole distributor of Volvo cars in Bahrain, will unveil the premium hatchback V40 2014 at the show.

The five-door model comes with a 2.0L T5 petrol engine, featuring functions like start stop feature and braking energy regeneration, and is fitted with an automatic six-speed gearbox, said general manager Dr Bijan Majidi.

It features leading safety and driver support package, including Volvo’s pedestrian detection with full auto brake and the pedestrian airbag, he added. - TradeArabia News Service
