Easy Taxi expands its services in Qatar

DOHA, November 4, 2014

Easy Taxi, a leading mobile taxi hailing apps, is expanding its services in Qatar to connect passengers directly with trained and tracked drivers.

The Easy Taxi App is a streamlined solution that effectively addresses the concerns that passengers have in regards to availability of taxis, cost-effectiveness, and ease of communication, said a statement.

Upon launching the app, the passenger's location is pinpointed and the area is scanned for nearby taxis, matching the nearest taxi with its closest passenger.

With safety and security in mind, Easy Taxi allows the user to see the location of their taxi, in addition to the photo and details of the driver and of the car.

Easy Taxi additionally assures accurate meter usage for each trip, and on average, passengers spend between QR10 ($2.7) to QR15 and payments are made in cash.

Bilal Taha, city general manager in Qatar, said: "With the Easy Taxi App, taxi goers no longer need to aimlessly wait for a taxi to come, or deal with the confusion of explaining their location-which is even more challenging if there are language barriers.

“Our services are fast and reliable, which is essential as Qatar continues to grow. Easy Taxi offers expats, visitors, and citizens the convenience of affordable transportation as they go to events, work, or school."

The passengers in Qatar can join the growing number of Easy Taxi users by downloading the app that has reached over 10 million global downloads and has over 200,000 registered taxi drivers.

The app is available for Android, iOS, Blackberry, and Windows Phone devices, as well as for B2B clients through Easy Taxi Pro and Easy Taxi Corporate solutions.

Easy Taxi is being backed by iMena Holdings and Mobily Ventures, and is part of the Middle East Internet Group (MEIG), the leading Arabic internet platform which currently operates in seven countries. - TradeArabia News Service
