The technicians who won gold in “The 2014 GCC Body and Paint Technicians Skills Grand Prix”.

EK Kanoo technicians win two gold in skills contest

MANAMA, December 1, 2014

Toyota Motor Corporation has announced that two technicians from Ebrahim K Kanoo, Bahrain’s authorised Toyota dealer, have earned gold medals in “The 2014 GCC Body and Paint Technicians Skills Grand Prix”.

Roderic Gabion and Hasan Mahdi Husain, received the gold medals in the body category and paint category respectively.  

In the paint category, Al Futtaim Automotive Group - UAE received the Silver medal and Saud Bahwan Automotive – Oman earned the Bronze medal. As for the body category, Mohamed Naser Al Sayer and Sons Est. – Kuwait came in second place and Al Futtaim Automotive Group - UAE received the third position trophy.

The contest was held under the patronage of Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan, Minister of Labour and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Vocational Training, where he deputed the Assistant Undersecretary for Labour Affairs Dr Mohammed Ali Al Ansari to attend the event.

The event was attended by Ebrahim K Kanoo’s top management, Toyota Motor Corporation top officials, GCC Toyota distributors, as well as guests from the relevant ministries and technical institutes.

The competition aims to improve Toyota Technicians’ skills and efficiency in the body and paint service to achieve the highest possible customer satisfaction.

Ebrahim Mohammed Kanoo, director of operations at Ebrahim K Kanoo, said: “Ebrahim K Kanoo is committed to provide the ultimate customer experience. Our training programs are designed to develop the technicians’ skills to guarantee high-quality after-sales service. Today, we commend our technicians for winning the 1st place in both categories.”

All of the contestants have shown that they can deliver high quality services that will ensure the best customer experience in all Toyota body and paint centres.”
 
The 12 technicians from Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and UAE, who have qualified to participate in this GCC Skills Grand Prix, were ranked first in their respective national skills contest during 2014.

The Chairman of the GCC SGP committee along with Toyota Motor Corporation top officials awarded all the contestants and handed over the trophies to the winners. Moreover, the first winner from each category will be attending the champions’ assembly in Japan next year. – TradeArabia News Service
