BMW motorcycles join escort fleet

Euro Motors, the official BMW Group importer in Bahrain, has handed over six BMW K 1600 GT models to the Ministry of Interior for the personal escort of the Crown Prince.

The model comes with a supreme in-line six-cylinder engine with a high level of pulling power, said a statement.

The engine out is 118kW at 7,750 rpm and a maximum torque of 175Nm at 5,250 rpm, it said.

Paul Yates, general manager of Euro Motors, said: “We are honoured to be chosen to have our motorcycles to be part of the Crown Princes’ escort, there isn’t a better model to best represent the BMW Motorrad brand and be part of the escort. The luxury touring bike has been updated this year and we are sure will be ready for its day to day duties.”

The updated 2015 model has seen a number of new upgrades including, Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) as standard for increased safety when accelerating.

The new model can also be fitted with the Motorrad Keyless Ride System. The new system will enable the steering to lock, fuel tank and other storage compartments in the motorcycle to be locked remotely without the use of the key.

With the new system, the BMW K 1600 GT can be started with the start/stop button without the key having to be placed in the bike.  

Other new special equipment features for the model include daytime riding light and Hill Start Control for easy hill starts, said the statement.

It has now been fitted with the instrument panel of the K 1600 GTL Exclusive featuring new scales and particularly high-end chrome surfaces, it added. - TradeArabia News Service
