Toyota's new hybrid car hits UAE roads

DUBAI, November 17, 2016

Al-Futtaim Motors, exclusive distributor of Toyota in the UAE, has announced the launch of the 2017 Toyota Prius, the world’s most popular hybrid car.

The 2017 Prius, now in its fourth-generation, retains the striking exterior as well as its unique driving dynamics, but brings a new model to the fold, now available in Eco and Iconic.

Announcing the launch, Saud Abbasi, the managing director of Toyota at Al Futtaim Motors, said: "Earlier this year, the Prius made waves when it hit UAE shores, bringing a unique hybrid mobility experience unlike anything else in the market and crafting for itself a following amongst not just our individual customers, but also as a car of choice for corporations and government entities, with unrivalled fuel efficiency that gets up to 26.1 km per liter."

“As the leader in hybrid motoring in the UAE, Al-Futtaim Motors has been working relentlessly to help accelerate the shift towards green mobility in the UAE. Hybrid vehicles are the immediate solution to the question of sustainable mobility, requiring no infrastructural development on the part of the government, and no changes in driver behavior, easing not only the transition from traditional to hybrid, but also fast-tracking towards the country’s sustainability goals,” he added.

According to him, 2017 Prius is one of the most aerodynamic Toyota cars, offering a responsive, smooth and quiet drive unlike any other, and comes with an interior that maximizes driver comfort.

The new 2017 Prius is available across all Al-Futtaim showrooms and come with eight year, unlimited mileage warranty. The Eco model is available for Dh82,900 ($22,564), while the Iconic grade is priced at Dh97,900 ($26,646).

The new models come with a host of new safety features including vehicle stability control, traction control system, anti-lock braking system, tyre pressure warning system and 7 SRS airbags standard across the range, it added.-TradeArabia News Service
