GS Eng in $1.8bn Egypt refinery deal

Seoul, August 29, 2007

South Korea's GS Engineering & Construction said it is set to sign a $1.8 billion deal to build a refinery for Egypt's state-run oil company.

A GS spokesman said by telephone the builder was scheduled to sign the contract soon.

The Maeil Business Newspaper, which reported the deal earlier, said the Egyptian refinery would have the capacity to refine crude up to 150,000 barrel per day.
