Enoc in deal to boost occupational HSE skills

Emirates National Oil Company (Enoc) has signed a MoU with the Ministry of Labour in Dubai to further strengthen the occupational health and safety practices of both organisations.

As per the MoU, both Enoc and the Ministry of Labour will co-operate in planning and executing a number of knowledge-sharing initiatives on occupational health, including joint training programmes, awareness campaigns educational seminars and workshops as well as community initiatives.

Dr Aisha Butti Bin Bishr, director of Services and Support Affairs., Ministry of Labour, and Saif Al Falasi, executive director of Environment, Health, Safety and Quality (EHSQ) and Corporate Affairs of Enoc, signed the agreement.

Saif Al Falasi said the MoU is part of Enoc’s strategy to constantly develop its skills and knowledge pool in all areas related to health and safety.

"The partnership is part of Enoc’s corporate social responsibility commitment, and aims at educating and raising awareness on occupational health and safety amongst all stakeholders," he noted.

"It will be marked by mutual knowledge transfer in all key areas of occupational health, and its benefits in creating a healthy and productive work place. We will also jointly explore community campaigns that will strengthen public awareness on health and safety issues," he added.

“We are honoured to partner with the Enoc, which has an accomplished track-record in environment, health and safety practices," said Dr Bishr.

"The MoU will significantly elevate the knowledge and skill sets of both Enoc and Ministry of Labour staff in occupational health and safety, and in turn contribute to the welfare of the employees," she added.-TradeArabia News Service
