Accenture, SAP offer solution for upstream operations

Abu Dhabi, March 23, 2014

Accenture and SAP are set to deliver joint new offering based on the SAP Hana platform, called ‘Upstream Production Operations.’

The offering is aimed at helping oil and gas companies improve and standardize processes, replace legacy tools, provide a single view of production across the organisation, minimise uncertainty and improve the management of production.

Extending the existing relationship between the two companies and expanding their portfolio of hydrocarbon management solutions, the platform will consist of solutions, services and training for energy companies’ production operations.

As part of the programme, Accenture and SAP will provide an end-to-end solution, which will include key processes such as production forecasting, field data capture, production accounting and deferment management.

Using SAP’s leading software platform as the backbone, Accenture will provide consulting, systems integration and outsourcing services.

Omar Boulos, country managing director, Accenture Middle East, said: “Building on our existing success with SAP, these new upstream production operations solutions are designed to fill a significant void in today’s upstream market. Our goal is to help our clients focus on improving their operations from the initial phase of production to the point of sales by optimizing energy companies’ investment in upstream assets.”

Chakib Bouhdary, executive vice president, Industry Solutions, SAP, said: “Combining Accenture’s significant domain expertise in operations with SAP’s innovative IT solutions will create a variety of new upstream go-to-market offerings that don’t exist in the industry today. We believe this will change the game in helping our customers meet their production goals.” - TradeArabia News Service
