Texas, July 16, 2014

CB&I, a leading energy infrastructure-focused company, has won additional contracts from Oman Oil Refineries and Petroleum Industries Co (Orpic) for the Liwa Plastics Project in the Sultanate.

The scope of work will include the license and engineering design of three units in addition to the previously announced award for its ethylene technology and front-end engineering and design (FEED) services, said a statement.

CB&I will provide the CDMtbe technology for a new 90,000 tonne per annum high conversion MTBE unit, the technology for a 41,000 MTA butene-1 recovery unit, and the NGL-MAX (SM) gas processing technology for a new 18 million standard cu m per day natural gas liquids (NGL) extraction plant.

The NGL plant will be the largest single train gas plant designed by the CB&1, it said.

Daniel McCarthy, president, said: “The award of these additional technology contracts demonstrates Orpic's confidence in CB&I's technology portfolio and wide range of services. Our successful project execution has a pull-through effect on the entire organisation." - TradeArabia News Service
