Carillion .... to complete the BP project in mid-2017.

Carillion inks $124m Oman construction deal

MUSCAT, July 15, 2015

Leading construction group Carillion said one of its units has won a $124.2-million contract from BP for the construction of a residential complex at the Khazzan tight gas project site within Block 61 in central Oman.

A leading integrated support services company, UK-based Carillion has a substantial portfolio of public private partnership (PPP) projects and extensive construction capabilities.

The contract, awarded to Carillion Alawi, involves the construction of accommodation facilities, including an operational base, a residential complex for 250 personnel and other infrastructure buildings in the Khazzan gas field, 350 km south west of Muscat.

The project work is likely to start in September and is scheduled for completion in mid-2017.

Commenting on the win, Carillion CEO Richard Howson, said: ''We are delighted to have been selected by BP for this important contract, which I believe reflects our reputation for safely delivering high-quality, sustainable solutions and we look forward to working with BP in Oman."
 
The group's annual revenue in 2014 was some £4.1 billion ($6.36 billion). It employs around 42,000 people and operates across the UK, in the Middle East and Canada.-Reuters
