Morocco floats tender for 400MW solar plant
RABAT, January 17, 2016
The Moroccan Agency for Solar Energy has launched a new international tender for a solar power project with a total installed capacity of 400MW, a report said.
The project will include systems based on solar photovoltaic (PV) and solar thermal power generation technology, reported ESI Africa, citing North Africa Post.
Morocco is targeting to generate 1,000MW from wind energy between 2015 and 2025, and solar energy contributing a share of 1,100MW, while hydro power will supplement the energy mix with about 450MW, the report said.
