Iran society to draw up green energy guidelines

TEHRAN, February 8, 2016

The Iranian Solar Energy Society on Renewable Energy aims to compile a roadmap for developing the Islamic Republic’s renewable energy sector, a top official said.

"We seek to identify all those who are involved in this sector in Iran and assign them a constructive, positive and parallel role in this framework of the roadmap,” Majid Namjou, head of the Iranian Solar Energy Scientific Society, was quoted as saying in the Iran Daily report.

He was speaking ahead of the National Conference & Exhibition of Iranian Solar Energy Society on Renewable Energy set to take place on May 4 and 5.

The society plans to create synergy among the sector's players and help them work collaboratively and harmoniously towards making maximum use of the country's clean and renewable energies, Namjou explained.

The roadmap will help orchestrate and organize scattered efforts and sundry measures, he added. "Another goal of the conference is to promote the culture of using renewable energies among Iranians. All Iranian households are required to be able to use solar energy at their place of residence."

Namjou invited domestic experts to submit the abstract of their articles to the secretariat of the conference.

"A scientific committee will select top articles to be presented at the conference. Authors of the chosen articles will be provided with facilities for taking part in the event. In addition, top articles will receive awards at the end of the confab. We expect the articles to help us resolve problems faced by the country's renewable energy sector and promote the use of these energies,” he said.
