Gazprom eyes investment in Iran gas sector

TEHRAN, June 1, 2016

Russia-based gas giant Gazprom Company is keen to invest in Iran’s gas industry, Iran Daily quoted the deputy head of National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) as saying.

Mojtaba Sheikh Bahaei highlighted Gazprom’s experience in field of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), the Iran Daily report said, citing Shana.

Gazprom officials who attended a meeting of NIGC and Gazprom Task Force called for better distribution of gas across Iran, he added.

He said that the two sides agreed to continue talks on ways to reduce gas consumption for home use and also monitor gas stations and other facilities in their next meeting in Russia.

Discussions included compressed natural gas (CNG), LNG, repair and maintenance system of gas turbo compressors, turbine testing lab, leak detection of gas transformation pipelines' new technologies, he said.
