Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation (Empower), the world’s largest district cooling company, has achieved Leed Gold Certification from the US Green Building Council for its warehouses located in Al Qouz, Dubai, UAE, as part of its commitment to enhance sustainability activities.

By this achievement, Empower reflects the pioneering role of the company in designing and building sustainable buildings, the company said.

Empower warehouses achieved the Leed certification under the ‘Leed for New Construction Rating System’. “Achieving this Gold Certificate pertaining to adopting pioneering green practices in the design of warehouses reflect our commitment to adopt highest environmental standards in our services and operations. This certificate crowns our efforts in line with the directives of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to build green economy in the UAE under the slogan ’A green economy for sustainable development’,” said Ahmad Bin Shafar, CEO of Empower.
