Abu Dhabi summit to discuss new energy landscape

ABU DHABI, November 5, 2016

Twenty of the world’s leading oil industry chief executives will discuss the new energy landscape and different models for partnerships across the industry at a major industry summit which opens on November 6 in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

A major roundtable is being organised on the eve of Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (Adipec) 2016, which will be held from November 7 to 10 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center (Adnec).

Senior executives, representing the world’s biggest oil companies from across the globe, have been invited to the Abu Dhabi CEO Roundtable by Dr Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, UAE Minister of State and the chief executive of Adnoc Group, said the event organisers.

These include Bob Dudley, the group CEO of BP; Rex Tillerson, the chairman and CEO of Exxon Mobil Corporation; Patrick Pouyanne, the chairman and CEO of Total; Saad Sherida Al Kaabi, the president and CEO of Qatar Petroleum; Claudio Descalzi, the chief exective of Eni; Vicki A Hollub, the president and CEO of Occidental; Ben van Beurden, the CEO of Royal Dutch Shell; Eldar Saetre, the president and chief executive of Statoil; Amin H. Al Nasser, the chief executive of Saudi Aramco; Musabbeh Al Kaabi, the CEO of Mubadala Petroleum; Steve Suellentrop, the president of HOC Energy; B. Ashok, the chairman of Indian Oil Corporation and Toshiaki Kitamura, the chief executive and president of Inpex Corporation.

It will provide a high level forum for dialogue regarding the current economic environment facing the energy industry, they added

"The energy industry is evolving. Lower oil prices have placed an increased priority on resilience and efficiency and companies in the industry are independently searching for sustainable strategies in this new energy landscape," remarked Dr Al Jaber.

"We are entering a time where societal, technological, and political trends are reshaping the environment in which oil companies operate. The Abu Dhabi CEO Roundtable will provide a timely opportunity for key industry leaders to openly discuss important issues, including potential areas of partnership to advance the industry," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
