Iran to set up renewable energy projects in Kazakhstan

TEHRAN, December 14, 2016

Iran and Kazakhstan have agreed on plans for setting up eight renewable energy projects in southern Kazakhstan, said a report.

The two countries have decided to develop a number of energy plants, including photovoltaic power stations (also known as a solar park), reported the Iran Daily News, citing Kazakhstan’s Minister of Investments and Development.

The agreement will focus on key areas of customs, banking, agriculture, water management, transportation, communication, petrochemicals, tourism, health, cooperative, science, technology and mines, stated Zhenis Kassymbek after signing the agreement with Iran’s Minister of Agricultural Jihad Mahmoud Hojjati at a recent joint economic committee meeting in Tehran.

The Central Asian country is now planning to provide Iran with a list of companies destined for privatisation in a bid to increase economic ties between the countries, he added.
