Gastech 2018 roadshow draws top global experts

MADRID, October 21, 2017

Around 200 regional and international business leaders in the oil and gas sector gathered in Madrid, Spain, this week to discuss the continued evolution of the growing gas and LNG market at the Gastech 2018 Roadshow.

The one-day event, held at the Official College of Architects of Madrid, was the first such roadshow ahead of Gastech Exhibition and Conference 2018, which will see the global gas industry converge in Spain next year.

Delegates heard insights from leading Spanish energy companies and organisations hosting Gastech 2018, as well as Sedigas and leading energy industry consultancy, Wood Mackenzie.

During the event, speakers discussed the global move towards the greater adoption of gas and LNG as the fuel of choice and how the industry continues to see signposts pointing towards further increases.

Governing body and programme director, Gavin Sutcliffe said: "This means more investment, more transactions, more employees, more infrastructures and more technology and expanded commercial and technical sessions at the 2018 conference will look to support this growth."

A second roadshow will take place in spring 2018 ahead of the Gastech expo in September. The industry leading conference will see more than 1,200 CEOs, chairmen, managing directors, presidents, government officials and ministers among 3,500 global conference delegates to consider the key challenges facing the industry.

The summit will see experts discuss the most important topics that will shape the future of the world’s gas, LNG and energy industries for decades to come, remarked Sutcliffe.

"This first Gastech Roadshow was a fantastic introduction to the key issues, topics and trends that we will be discussing next September," he noted.

"Emerging gas markets are generating greater confidence, with long-term planning, increased infrastructure investments, advancing technologies and rising employment levels," observed Sutcliffe.

"There’s a real buzz around gas and LNG currently and Gastech 2018 will reflect this by bringing together the entire value chain from the upstream, midstream and downstream sectors to connect with new consumers and suppliers and the world’s largest gas and LNG marketplace," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
